South Alabama turns back Texas State 41-31 with fourth-quarter comeback

Steve Campbell's first victory at South Alabama was a wild fourth-quarter comeback befitting of the Sun Belt Conference.

The Jaguars scored the last 25 points of the game -- including 18 in the fourth quarter -- to beat Texas State 41-31 on Saturday night at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Evan Orth threw two touchdown passes in the final 2:02, the first a 23-yarder to Jordan McCray to give USA (1-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) the lead for good.

After Jalen Thompson's second interception of the game, South Alabama tacked on an Orth-to-Jamarius Way 18-yard score with 33 seconds left. Orth passed for 266 yards and two scores, hitting Way 11 times for 173 yards.
