Dylan Hardy's 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted South Alabama to a 4-3 victory over Coastal Carolina in the finale of a three-game series at Stanky Field on Saturday.
With the victory, the Jaguars improve to 21-15, 10-5 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Chanticleers slip to 22-13-1, 10-4-1, but maintains first place in the Sun Belt East division by a half-game over USA.
"Our guys just kept working to get on base," USA head coach Mark Calvi said. "They have 27 outs and they know that; we preach that from day one.
