The Jaguars used a balanced offensive attack with eight players recorded at least one hit as the University of South Alabama softball team opened up the 2017 season Thursday night with a 9-3 victory over Central Arkansas at Jaguar Field.
The two teams will square off again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday in the Sand Dollar Classic at Jaguar Field. USA will then host Houston Baptist (12:30 p.m.) and Jacksonville State (5:30 p.m.) on Saturday before closing out the weekend against Alabama State on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Central Arkansas got on the board first in the top of the second on a bloop single by Myers to score Krissy Fontillas who had led the inning off with a double.
