South Alabama rolls to 11-6 victory at No. 18 Coastal Carolina

South Alabama jumped out to a 10-run lead on the way to an 11-6 victory at No. 18 Coastal Carolina in the opener of a three-game Sun Belt Conference baseball series Friday night.

The Jaguars (17-11, 7-2 Sun Belt) drew 15 walks and hit a pair of home runs in pulling within a half-game of the lead in the Sun Belt East Division. The Chanticleers lost their third straight game to fall to 21-11, 8-2.

South Alabama's Travis Swaggerty led off the game with a home run, his sixth of the season. Other big hits for the Jaguars were Wells Davis' solo homer in the third, Andrew Bates' two-run single in the fourth and RBI hits by Brendan Donovan, Hunter Stokes and Carter Perkins.
