South Alabama QB Dallas Davis sits out 2nd straight practice, but still could play Saturday

South Alabama quarterback Dallas Davis did not practice again Wednesday, leaving his status for Saturday's game at Louisiana Tech up in the air.

Davis suffered a shoulder contusion and a head injury in last week's loss against Idaho, head coach Joey Jones said Tuesday. For the second straight day Wednesday, he was in a jersey and shorts with no helmet or pads during the portion of practice open to the media.

Typically, South Alabama players who do not practice by Wednesday of game week do not play in that Saturday's game. However, Jones said through USA athletic department spokesman Brian Fremund that Davis has not been ruled out for the Louisiana Tech game.
