South Alabama QB Dallas Davis on 'pitch count' during fall camp following shoulder surgery

South Alabama quarterback Dallas Davis was back on the practice field for the first time in eight months on Sunday, another milestone in his return from offseason shoulder surgery.

Davis, a junior from Panama City, Fla., played through shoulder and toe injuries last season, his first as a starter. He had surgery to repair a torn labrum in January, shortly after the Jaguars lost to Air Force in the Arizona Bowl to end their season.

But on Sunday, Davis was back on the field, executing approximately 80 throws in USA's first practice of fall camp. He said he began to feel like his old self midway through the summer, and was able to cut loose a bit on Sunday.
