South Alabama pitcher Randy Bell was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 2017 MLB draft on Tuesday.
Bell, a senior, went with the No. 303 overall pick in the 10th round. The 5-foot-10 right-hander is due a signing bonus of approximately $133,000.
Bell was the Jaguars' No. 1 starter in 2016, posting a 7-3 record with a 3.69 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 107.1 innings. In 2015, the Woodville, Miss., native went 7-3 with a 2.45 ERA as USA's primary mid-week starter.
Bell was the second South Alabama player drafted on Tuesday. Catcher Jared Barnes, a junior, went in the eighth round to the Miami Marlins.
