South Alabama looks to bounce back despite short week, Top 10 opponent

South Alabama doesn't have much time for improvement after its season-opening, 47-27 loss at Ole Miss last weekend.

USA hosts Oklahoma State on Friday night at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, a home-opener that will be historic in at least one way. The Cowboys (1-0) will almost certainly retain their No. 10 spot in the national polls -- unless they move up when the new rankings are announced Tuesday -- making them the highest ranked team to visit Mobile in the Jaguars' nine-year existence.

Oklahoma State, which routed Tulsa 59-24 last Thursday and opened as a 27.5-point favorite at South Alabama, features a passing game even more than that sported by Ole Miss on Saturday.
