South Alabama has retained the Parker Executive Search firm to help find its new coach, according to the employment listing on the NCAA's jobs board.
The listing, posted Wednesday on NCAAMarket.com, directs applicants to Daniel Parker and Grant Higgison of the Atlanta-based firm. USA athletics director Joel Erdmann said Monday that the school planned to use a search firm as part of process in finding a replacement for Joey Jones, who has announced his resignation, effective at the end of the season.
Typically, a search firm will help identify candidates in a confidential manner, without school representatives having to contact them directly until interest is expressed.
