South Alabama getting dangerously thin at running back after injuries, suspensions

Roster attrition during the season is part of football, but what South Alabama has gone through at running back during the month of November is very nearly unprecedented.

In the last three weeks alone, the Jaguars (4-6, 3-3 Sun Belt) have lost five running backs for the foreseeable future due to injury or for disciplinary reasons. By the end of last week's 24-19 victory over Arkansas State, sophomore Tra Minter and Carlos Robinson were the only available backs on the USA roster.

"I don't think I've ever been on a team that's lost five running backs in a season, but that's happened to us," South Alabama coach Joey Jones said.
