South Alabama freshman wide receiver Jalen Tolbert will miss the 2017 season due to a knee injury, Jaguars head coach Joey Jones said Monday.
Tolbert, a McGill-Toolen graduate, was ticketed for potential extensive playing time as a true freshman this fall. However, he will soon undergo season-ending surgery, Jones said.
"He's going to have to have a little process done, so he's going to be out for the fall with a knee deal," Jones said in an interview on "Sports Drive" on WNSP-FM 105.5. "He was going to play, but unfortunately due to injury he's not going to be able to.
