A South Alabama offense struggling to find its way faces one of its toughest challenges of the 2017 season when first-place Arkansas State visits Mobile.
The Red Wolves (5-2, 4-0 Sun Belt) have allowed just eight touchdowns in four conference games and lead the nation in sacks per game (3.71). Arkansas State is 5-0 all-time against South Alabama (3-5, 2-3), including a defense-fueled 17-7 victory in Jonesboro last season.
"They're an experienced football team that has been playing together for a while," South Alabama offensive coordinator Richard Owens said. "They're going to come out and play hard.
