South Alabama CB Bobby Flott out for year after re-tearing ACL; Quinton Lane settling in on defense

South Alabama cornerback Bobby Flott is out for the season after re-tearing the ACL in his right knee, Jaguars coach Joey Jones confirmed Tuesday.

Flott, a sophomore from Mobile, re-injured his knee in USA's Sept. 8 game against Oklahoma State. The Baker High School graduate first injured his knee in the spring, but was able to return midway through fall camp following corrective surgery.

"Bobby's going to have surgery, so it will be next year before he comes back," Jones said. "He'll get redshirted this year, and be back as a redshirt sophomore next year."

Flott's injury means the Jaguars are without both of their projected starters at cornerback for the balance of the season.
