The NCAA has approved a waiver to allow South Alabama to count two wins over FCS schools toward bowl-eligibility, the school announced Sunday.
The Jaguars (5-5) beat Presbyterian 31-7 on Saturday, their second win over an FCS school this season. USA beat Nicholls, also an FCS school, on Sept. 24.
USA was forced to school a second FCS opponent after LSU pulled out of its Nov. 19 game with South Alabama in order to play a make-up game against Florida. No other team was available other than Presbyterian, which had been scheduled to play Florida.
