South Alabama basketball's 'Peanut Butter & Jelly' immortalized with jersey retirement

Inextricably linked during their time as South Alabama basketball players, Junie Lewis and Jeff Hodge were immortalized together at the Mitchell Center on Saturday.

Known collectively as "Peanut Butter & Jelly" when they were starring for the Jaguars in the late 1980s, Lewis and Hodge had their jerseys retired during halftime of Saturday's game vs. Appalachian State. They join previous honorees Terry Catledge, Ed Rains and Rory White with their names and numbers displayed in the rafters at the Mitchell Center.
