South Alabama opens its 2017-18 Sun Belt Conference basketball season at home this weekend, hosting Georgia State on Friday night to begin league play.
The Jaguars -- who have not played since a 77-74 loss at Tulane on Dec. 21 -- finished non-conference play at 6-6, while the Panthers are 9-4. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell Center.
"I'm excited to compete for a regular-season championship," USA coach Matthew Graves said. "Everyone starts at 0-0 and you have an opportunity at home to play a very good Georgia State team. Hopefully we can get off to a good start in conference play.
