South Alabama basketball loses big at UT Arlington, 91-67

Homestanding Texas-Arlington used a 15-0 run in the second half to break open a close game and spark a 91-67 win over South Alabama on Saturday.

The Mavericks (11-6, 2-2 SBC) shot 54.1 percent in the second half and 48.4 percent overall. The Jaguars (8-8, 2-2 SBC) converted 31.8 percent on the afternoon.

South Alabama's Rodrick Sikes extended his double-digit scoring streak to 15 with 16 points, while Herb McGee added 14 on three 3-pointers. UTA had five players in double-digit points, led by 19 from Kaelon Wilson.

The Mavericks had 23 second-chance points, 31 points off turnovers, and 44 points in the paint, all three season highs by a USA opponent.
