South Alabama basketball coach Matthew Graves will return for a fifth season, Jaguars athletics director Joel Erdmann told AL.com on Thursday.
USA finished the 2016-17 season with a 14-18 record, following an 80-67 loss to Coastal Carolina in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament in New Orleans on Wednesday. Graves is 51-79 in four years with the Jaguars, and has yet to record a winning season.
"Coach Graves will be with us next year," Erdmann said. "I think if you start with him, he knows and understands that where we ended up from a competitive standpoint is not where we want to be.
