South Alabama baseball tops Georgia State 12-4 to even series

Wells Davis homered and drove in four runs as South Alabama beat Georgia State 12-4 in Atlanta on Saturday, evening their three-game Sun Belt Conference baseball series.

The Jaguars (13-10, 3-2 Sun Belt) had 14 hits in all, in addition to seven walks. Davis reached base all five times to the plate, with two singles, two walks and a three-run homer in the first inning to put USA on top 3-0.

After Georgia State (11-12, 1-4) took a 4-3 lead after three, South Alabama scored five times in the fourth inning and three times in the fifth to pull away.
