Heading into this weekend's home series with Texas-Arlington (21-27, 11-13), USA is tied for second in the Sun Belt East with Georgia Southern, 3 1/2 games behind first-place Coastal Carolina.
South Alabama enters the weekend having lost back-to-back conference series to Arkansas State and Little Rock, and seven of nine overall.
