The type of effort South Alabama baseball coach Mark Calvi had been envisioning from the beginning of the season finally came to fruition on Tuesday.

Andy Arguelles and Zach Greene combined on a three-hitter, Travis Swaggerty homered and doubled and Brendan Donovan drove in three runs as the Jaguars knocked off Southeastern Louisiana 6-1 at Stanky Field. USA (12-9) had lost three straight to SLU (16-7) dating to last season.

"I would say that's probably our best game of the year," Calvi said. "Across the board -- pitching, defense, guys getting on. It wasn't a whole lot of hits, but it's when you get them.
