When the Jaguars take the field this upcoming season, the South Alabama football program will be marching into its ninth season.
At the helm every step of the way has been Mobile's own Joey Jones.
The former Alabama receiver, who played for Bear Bryant, enters this season in the last year of his contract.
South Alabama athletic director Joel Erdmann joined me for a frank discussion on "The Opening Kickoff" on WNSP-FM 105.5 on Wednesday to discuss the state of the football program and the future under Jones.
"I'd love for him to be here," Erdmann said of Jones.
