NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama soccer team was picked to finish second in the preseason poll and sophomore Brenna McPartlan was honored in the all-Sun Belt Conference teams released Thursday afternoon.
The Jaguars received 103 points and one first-place vote. Defending regular-season champion Texas State was picked first with 108 points and six first-place votes.
McPartlan, the 2018 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, led the team with five goals, four assists, 14 points and four game-winning goals and was named first-team all-conference.
The Lancashire, England native ranked in the top 10 in the conference in seven offensive categories, including tied for fifth in goals and third in game-winning goals.
