SOCCER EDGES UL MONROE ON STRIKE FROM BRIANA MORRIS

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama sophomore Briana Morris scored late in the first half to give the Jaguars the only offense they would need in a 1-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe Sunday afternoon at The Cage.

USA wins for the fourth time in its last five outings to improve to 4-4-1 on the year, while ULM falls to 0-9-1.

GAME FACTS
-The Jags outshot the Warhawks 22-1 in the first half, and put 10 of those shots on goal
-Morris' goal came at 40:42 off an assist from senior Chelsea Followwell
-Followwell found Morris in space, and Morris dribbled to just inside the 18-yard box before pulling the trigger
-Sophomore Kory Dixon put two of her three attempts in the first half on goal, and had a cross ricochet off the crossbar
-The Jaguars recorded the first 14 shots of the contest
