KANSAS CITY – University of South Alabama senior Rio Hardy and junior Hannah Godfrey were voted to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-South Region Teams, it was announced this week.
Hardy, the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, was tabbed to the second team, and Godfrey, the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year, was placed on the third team. It is the first all-region honor for both Hardy and Godfrey.
A native of Workington, England, Hardy finished second in school history in both career points (103) and goals (43), and is the school's all-time leader in game-winning goals (13).
