South Alabama fell apart late in a 29-23 double-overtime loss to Idaho at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Saturday night.
The Jaguars allowed the game-tying touchdown with 13 seconds left in regulation, then missed a field goal in double-overtime. That opened the door for the Vandals, who won the game on Isaiah Saunders' 2-yard touchdown run.
With the loss, South Alabama falls to 1-3 overall, 0-1 in the Sun Belt. Idaho is 2-2, 1-0.
The game was delayed twice by lightning, once for 2 hours, 27 minutes in the fourth quarter, and again for 39 minutes in double overtime.
