MURRAY, Ky. — University of South Alabama women's golfer MacKenzie Peyton posted her first top-10 finish of the spring, leading the Jaguars in the final round of the Jan Weaver Murray State Invitational, their final tournament of the regular season.
South Alabama (322-312-302— 936) improved its round scores by 10 strokes through each of the three rounds and placed fifth in the 10-team field at the Miller Memorial Golf Course. The host Murray State posted a three-round score of 893 to earn the Invitational title and best runner-up Western Kentucky by 24 strokes.
"We really didn't do anything much differently today," women's golf head coach Matt Luther said.
