Offense shows improvement in South Alabama's second fall scrimmage

South Alabama was back on the field Friday morning for a 100-plus play scrimmage at the outdoor facility, its second scrimmage of the fall.

After the USA defense largely dominated the first scrimmage last week at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, the Jaguars offense showed improvement on Friday. There were four touchdowns scored in the regular (non-red zone) periods, and the South Alabama offensive units turned the ball over only once and did not allow as many sacks and negative plays as before.

"I thought we made a big jump offensively," South Alabama head coach Joey Jones said. "We ran the ball better.
