Nebraska defeats Jags to complete series sweep

MOBILE, Ala. – Nebraska defeated South Alabama baseball 9-3 in Sunday's series finale at Eddie Stanky Field.

The Cornhuskers completed the three-game sweep with the win, marking the first time the Jags have been swept at home since last season against Georgia Southern.

Nebraska right-hander Michael Garza (1-0) tossed six scoreless relief innings, and allowed one hit with three strikeouts and one walk to record his first win of the season. Jaguar left-hander (0-1) allowed five earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks in three innings pitched in the loss.

Nebraska (3-3-1) homered four times in the game, led by Josh Caron who finished with two along with five RBIs and two runs scored.
