Unselfishness – one of the core principles of the University of South Alabama football program – is defined as "a willingness to put the needs or wishes of others before one's own self."
"To me, the term unselfishness epitomizes what the game of football is all about," head coach Steven Campbell said. "If you care enough about your teammates, you can help the team do something. That's what I've always loved about football; if you care enough about the people around you and you work hard enough, you can make a contribution and belong to something bigger than yourself.
