As South Alabama officials prepare to make another appearance before the Mobile City Council regarding funding for an on-campus football stadium, the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce has come out in support of the project.
The Chamber's board of directors last week passed a resolution in support of USA's efforts. Though the resolution does not call on the City of Mobile or Mobile County to support the project financially, Chamber President & CEO Bill Sisson said in a statement released through communications and marketing director Susan Rak-Blanchard that "an on-campus stadium is the next step for exponential growth at USA," adding "what's good for the university is good for the community.
