BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of South Alabama No. 28 men's tennis team (12-2) defeated UAB (5-3) 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Jaguars have now won 11-straight matches to continue the fourth-largest winning streak in program history.
"UAB played a great match," said South Alabama head coach Nick Brochu. "They fought hard even after we started winning matches and made us win it in 3 sets."
The Jags claimed the doubles point with wins on court No. 1 and No. 2. Senior Juan Cruz Soria (San Juan, Argentina) and freshman Loic Cloes (Remicourt, Belgium) defeated Tim Dollman and Stefan Gonzalez 6-4 on the first court, and junior Oliver Gingras (Quebec City, Quebec, Canada) and freshman Clement Marzol (Toulouse, France) topped Christian Coetzee and Eric Komati 6-3 on the second court.
