Jamall Hickbottom played home games his entire high school career at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, and there's a better than average chance he'll continue to do so this season.
Hickbottom, a Mobile native and Williamson High School graduate, is one of a handful of true freshmen likely to see time for South Alabama this season. He's currently running with the second team at inside linebacker behind senior Bull Barge and junior-college transfer Roy Yancey.
"It's been a great experience," Hickbottom said. "Coming in as a true freshman, I've just been watching the older guys and learning from them. When it's my turn to step up, I just have to do what I can do.
