BOSTON – CollegeInsider.com has announced that the University of South Alabama's Michael Flowers is one of 30 finalists for the organization's Lou Henson National Player-of-the-Year Award.
Presented annually to the top mid-major player in NCAA Division I college basketball, it honors the former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons. The winner of the award will be announced on April 1.
Flowers — a senior guard who hails from Southfield, Mich. — posted averages of 21 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Jaguars after transferring from Western Michigan, as he shot 38.
