IRVING, Texas – University of South Alabama senior Brian Ankerson is on the Rimington Trophy Watch List, it was announced on Wednesday.
In addition to being named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy®, Ankerson has also been nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® and the Wuerffel Trophy this year.
Ankerson recorded both the highest overall and assignment marks on the Jaguar offensive line the opening month of the season while posting nine knockdown blocks, which is tied for the second-highest total on the team. That included receiving grades of 83 percent overall and 88 on assignments to go along with five pancake blocks in South's first-ever game at the new Hancock Whitney Stadium against Tulane on Sept.
