JAGUAR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FALLS AT ALABAMA STATE

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's basketball team fell 69-59 to Alabama State on Sunday at the Dunn-Oliver Acodome.

Destiny Samuel recorded nine points and eight rebounds for the contest, leading the Jags in both categories. Dee Haymer followed with nine points and four boards.

Alabama State had three double-digit scorers with Ayana Emmanuel at 16 in addition to Jayla Crawford and Jada Nneji at 14 each. Nneji also had a game-high four blocks and Tyesha Rudolph led all players with four assists.

GAME FACTS
- South Alabama captured an early 5-2 lead in the first, however, Alabama State overtook the Jags' advantage with three consecutive field goals allowing the Hornets to push their lead out to 22-14 after one period of play.
