JAGUAR TRACK & FIELD’S BERGE EARNS ALL-AMERICA HONORS IN NCAA DIVISION I CHAMPIONSHIPS HEPTATHLON

AUSTIN, Texas – University of South Alabama junior Emilie Berge scored 5,493 points to place 15th in the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships heptathlon and pick up second-team all-America accolades for the second time this season.

Berge's highest finish of the day was a fifth-place, 40.10m (131-06.50) javelin throw that garnered 669 points and was just short of her season-best. She had a 5.82m (19-01.25) long jump to add 795 points to her total.

Ranked 18th entering the final event, Berge ran the fastest 800m of her career—2:18.13—to take ninth place, claim 849 points and advance to 15th in the overall standings.
