MOBILE, Ala. – Standout runner for the South Alabama track & field team Kirami Yego will compete at the Sharon Colyear Invitational hosted by Boston University in Boston, Mass. Saturday evening.
Yego will run in the 5000m event in a field of 227 athletes.
Kirami Yego holds the second-fastest time in school history in the indoor 5000m event. His time last year of 14:05.26 trails only David Kimani's 13:42.23, which he ran in 2000.
More recently, Yego is coming off a cross country season in which he received All-America honors after finishing 37th in the NCAA Cross Country Championship.
