MOBILE, Ala. – For University of South Alabama softball's Victoria Ortiz, the summer hasn't provided much of a break as the outfielder has competed in the Florida Gulf Coast League. Oritz was rewarded for her efforts earlier this week as she was selected to compete in league's All-Star game as a member of the Sun Division squad.
Ortiz – who plays for the SUA Pioneers – currently ranks just outside the league leaders in batting average (.410), while she is tied for second in doubles (7) and tied with four other players for sixth in the league in hits (25) entering Friday's competition.
