MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama football program is slated to return to Tennessee with the announcement Monday that the two schools have signed a contract to meet again during the 2021 season.
The Jaguars and Volunteers are scheduled to play a contest in Knoxville on Sept. 18 that fall, the second meeting in the series between two schools. In 2013, the Vols built a 31-7 advantage early in the third quarter before seeing USA rally to within a score; the final was 31-24 after UT stopped a 16-play Jag drive inside the 10-yard line with an interception on fourth down and less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
