JAGUAR FOOTBALL PICKS UP FIRST WIN WITH 10-POINT DEFEAT OF TEXAS STATE

MOBILE, Ala. – Sparked by a 55-yard Jalen Thompson interception return for a touchdown, the University of South Alabama football team scored the final 25 points Saturday to earn a 41-31 Sun Belt Conference victory Saturday over Texas State at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Thompson's score — the second of his career — cut the Jaguar deficit to 31-23 with just over six minutes left in the third quarter. Gavin Patterson followed with a field goal early in the fourth quarter, with South (1-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) clinching the win on a pair of Evan Orth touchdown passes in the final two minutes.
