ATLANTA – South Alabama Football got off to a red-hot start in the first quarter to jump out to an early lead, then made critical plays in the fourth quarter to regain its lead and snap a six-game losing streak with a 38-31 victory over Georgia State at Center Parc Stadium Thursday night.
The victory improved South's record to 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in Sun Belt Conference play.

- South Alabama's defense forced a three-and-out on Georgia State's first possession of the game, then strung together a 10-play, 53-yard scoring drive to take a 7-0 lead on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Bishop Davenport to Brendan Jenkins.
