TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of South Alabama baseball team is ranked 25th and catcher Jared Barnes was named a National Player of the Week, as announced by Collegiate Baseball Monday.
USA (34-18, 20-7 SBC) went 4-0 last week with a 7-6 win at No. 10 LSU in Baton Rouge, La., and a three-game sweep of Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. The Jaguars have won nine of their last 10 games and lead the Sun Belt Conference East Division with three regular-season games remaining. Monday's announcement marked the first time this season USA has been ranked.
