SAN MARCOS, Texas – Carter Perkins delivered a two-out, two-run single in the top of the ninth inning to lead the University of South Alabama baseball team to a 6-4 series-opening win over Texas State Thursday at Bobcat Baseball Stadium.
Travis Swaggerty reached on a one-out single back up the middle, and Drew LaBounty singled with two outs later in the inning. Jason Cryar followed with a walk to load the bases for Perkins, who delivered a two-run single into left-center field to plate Swaggerty and LaBounty with the game's final runs.
