NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama baseball team rallied for five runs in the top of the ninth inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Jared Barnes, to defeat New Orleans 9-6 Tuesday at Maestri Field.
USA (20-13) trailed 6-4 entering the final inning after UNO designated hitter Hezekiah Randolph hit his second home run of the game, a two-run shot that broke a 4-4 tie, in the bottom of the eighth.
Travis Swaggerty doubled to left-center with one out in the top of the ninth, and Eddie Paparella followed with a walk.
