NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama's Autavia Fluker has been voted the Sun Belt Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.
It's the third time since the start of the 2019 season that the redshirt senior from Bessemer, Ala., has earned the recognition, and the sixth time overall during that span including outdoor competition.
Last weekend, Fluker placed in the top three in both the shot put and weight throw at the season-opening Samford Invite. Her 15.28m mark in the shot — good for third in the final event standings — was the best in the Sun Belt over the weekend, while she ended up second in the weight throw with a 17.
