MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama dropped the opening game of the South Alabama Invitational presented by the Hampton by Hilton at Providence Park to Pepperdine 12-5 at Stanky Field on Friday night.

JG Bell paced three South Alabama (5-5) players with three hits, finishing 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a double. Colson Lawrence finished 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and RBI including his third home run. Meanwhile, Will Turner finished 2-for-5 with his first home run of the season.
