MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Women's Basketball defeated Akron in the season opener on Monday, winning the MAC-SBC Challenge by 24 at The Mitch.
KEY STATS:
- The Jags dominated the Zips today, leading the entire game. Their highest lead was early in the fourth quarter, when they were up 38.
- Tonight's win over Akron marked the Jags' largest scoring margin over a Group of Five team since they defeated ULM by 34 on Feb. 8, 2020.
- Three Jags recorded double-digits today, including Daniela Gonzalez, Amyah Sutton and Cordasia Harris, who recorded a double-double (17 PTS and 13 REB).
