NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama women's golf's Siti Shaari was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week (Sept. 21), as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Shaari competed at the USA Intercollegiate last weekend, her first collegiate tournament. The freshman golfer tied the program's individual 54-hole record by shooting a figure of 213 (-3) across the three-day event, shooting even-par the first two rounds and finished with a 69 (-3) the final day of the competition, to finish tied for third. Shaari's performance also helped lead the team to its best 54-hole score in program history with a team score of 877 breaking the previous mark by 13 strokes.
