GUTIERREZ CAMPOS NAMED SUN BELT WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW ORLEANS – After recording two shutouts and five saves in two starts over the weekend, University of South Alabama freshman Jaidy Gutierrez Campos was voted the Sun Belt Conference women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday.

The Mexico City, Mexico, native earned the award for the first time in her career, and is the first Jaguar this season to pick up the weekly honor.

Gutierrez Campos recorded two consecutive shutout victories last weekend during conference play. She made four saves in the Jags' 1-0 win over Louisiana. She also went the distance in both matches, picking up 180 minutes on the pitch.
